I: Name and Purpose |

The name of the organization will be
ACES Global Ambassadors. |
| |
Section B: Purpose |
| |
|
The AGA shall strive to bring together
students interested in the global aspect of agriculture. It shall
bring in ACES students that have participated or are interested in
participating in a study abroad opportunity. The AGA shall give foreign
students that are visiting the University of Illinois and the College
of ACES together with current students. Furthermore, the organization
will keep all of these students in contact with the Dean in charge
of Study Abroad. |

II: Membership |
| |
Section A: Members |
| |
|
The organization shall be made up of
three groups of members. The active sector shall be made up of undergraduate
students in the college of ACES. The associate sector will be made
up of graduate student in ACES interested in participating in the
AGA and students outside of the College of ACES. Associate members
will not have voting rights or be able to hold the offices of President
and ACES Council Representatives but will have second priority for
AGA activities. Associate Members elected as members of the Executive
Board, as defined later, will be given full membership status except
for the ability to hold the position of President and ACES Council
Representatives. Finally, the ex officio members will be
those faculty members with an interest in helping undergraduate students
become engaged in the international dimension of ACES. |

Section B: Dues |
| |
|
Membership dues shall be defined by the
executive board members. Dues can be assessed separately for each
one the different groups of members. |

| Article
III: Officers and Committees |
| |
Section A: Officers |
| |
|
The AGA shall be led by the following
officers: president, vice-president: external, vice-president: internal,
vice-president: projects, finance chair, secretary, public relations
chair, webmaster, social chair, and two representatives to the ACES
Student Council. |

Section B: Elections and
Restrictions |
| |
|
The officers shall be elected at the
end of each spring semester and shall serve over the following school
year. A candidate must receive a majority vote by the members of the
AGA. No person can hold more than one position within the organization
during a year. If an office becomes vacant during the year, then elections
will be held at the next business meeting after the vacancy occurs. |

Section C: Removal of
an Officer |
| |
|
If a problem arises with an officer,
the issue will be examined and discussed by the executive board members.
The Exec. Board can decide to remove an officer with a two thirds
vote of the board. Removal of an officer is to be used only under
extreme cases. |

Section D: Addition of
Offices and Committees |
| |
|
The organization can create a new office
or create a committee with a majority vote by the members. |

| Article
IV: Duties of Officers |
| |
President: |
| |
|
Serves as a figurehead and spokesperson
for the organization. He or she leads the meetings of the organization.
The president also helps to initiate new activities. |

Vice-President: External: |
| |
|
Shall lead the exchange student outreach
and aide with recruitment for the organization. |
| |
Vice-President: Internal: |
| |
|
Shall plan the meeting programs which
can include but are not limited to speakers, forums, or recruitment
efforts. |
| |
Vice-President: Projects: |
| |
|
Heads the development and planning of
the organization's annual or semi-annual study tour. |
| |
Finance Chair: |
| |
|
Manages the organization's accounts and
fiscal standings and organizes fund-raising activities. |
| |
Secretary: |
| |
|
In charge of recording the minutes of
the meetings, maintaining the AGA email list, and manages correspondence
within the organization. |

Public Relations Chair: |
| |
|
Handles all publicity and recruitment. |
| |
Webmaster: |
| |
|
Creates and/or maintains the AGA website. |
| |
Social Chair: |
| |
|
Plans social activities on a monthly
or bi-monthly basis. |
| |
ACES Student Council Representatives: |
| |
|
Represent the AGA and its interests at
the ACES Student Council meetings. |

| Article
V: Advisors |
| |
Section A: Administrative
Advisor |
| |
|
One of the faculty advisors shall be
an administrative member of the faculty. This advisor shall be appointed
by the Assistant Dean of Students and will be suggested to be the
Dean of Study Abroad. |

Section B: Faculty Advisor |
| |
|
The AGA shall also ask one member of
the ACES teaching faculty to serve as an advisor for the organization. |

| Article
VI: Meetings |
| |
Section A: Meeting |
| |
|
AGA business meeting times will be decided
by the executive board and will be held at least once per month during
the school year. In order for a meeting to qualify as an official
business meeting, then a quorum of active AGA members must be present.
More business meetings or executive meetings can be held as deemed
necessary by the members of the AGA or by the officer team. |

AGA business meetings shall follow Robert's
Rules of Order. |

| Article
VII: Amendments |
| |
|
Amendments to the AGA constitution can
be approved by a two thirds vote by the active members of the organization
at an official business meeting. The proposed amendment must be presented
at the business meeting preceding the meeting that the amendment is
to be voted upon. |
