AGA is raising $10,000 so that a rural community in Honduras can have clean water. On our study tour to Honduras this past December, we visited the community (La Cienega) that will benefit from this fundraiser. Currently, they are using the same water to bathe and for cooking and drinking. They are also not able to have health care in their rural community because they do not have a clean water supply. The money that AGA raises will directly go towards purchasing and installing a water pump that will supply clean water to La Cienega.

We thought the best way to tackle the Promesa project was to have 2 committees which are the pump and presentation committee. Having the 2 smaller committees will make it easier to find meeting times. Also, Mrs. Pettigrew will attend both committee meetings to ensure that both groups are working in the same direction.

PUMP COMMITTEE:
The responsibility of this committee is to ensure that we have all the answers for when we present at large companies. This group will have to get in contact with Promesa to get details about the pump such as previous pumps used, why is it costing this much, how much material is needed, how the pump will be installed etc. We need to know this info so that the companies will know what they are paying for. This group will also need to get into contact with Dr. Funk, an ag engineer to discuss opportunities for some students to do a project to come up with cheaper, more effective pumps. He may also have specific questions for Promesa. Dr.Pettigrew is willing to attend the meeting between the pump committee and Dr.Funk so you may want to arrange the meeting with Dr.Pettigrew also. This group will also get into contact with Dr.Weidenmann to get info on how to transfer the money to Honduras. Dr.Weidenmann is the liaison for the U of I and Zamorano.

PRESENTATION COMMITTEE:
This group will be divided up into sub committees which include:
    - Flyers/Press Releases
    - Letters: there are many different letters that need to be written. We will need a separate
letter for family & friends, faculty, corporations, and rotaries & churches.
    - Presentation: Powerpoint, script for powerpoint, and putting powerpoint on CDs.
